Building permissions to be given online

To ensure transparency and reduce the time:

To make the process of building approval more transparent, the Pune Municipal Corporation building permissions department has issued a circular stating that from October 1 all applications for building permission will have to be filed online.

A notice has been displayed outside city engineer's office in the PMC asking architects to start filing applications online and seek a registration number and password from the department.

The notice states that the applications will henceforth be verified online and the documents submitted along with the proposals will be scrutinized within 24 hours. The applicant will be informed what corrections are required in the documents and only after all the confirmations, it will be sent for final approval.

The PMC had begun working on the system about a year ago to ensure transparency and reduce the time taken for approving building proposals. Read More
