High-rise buildings: Solution to the shortage of residential space in Pune city:

The proposal to allow construction of buildings with height of up to 100 metres was cleared by the civic body during the tenure of commissioner Pravinsinh Pardeshi. The proposal had come as a response to the shortage of residential accommodation in the city.

The government, while clearing the PMC proposal, has divided the high-rise buildings into four categories: 36-40 metres, 40-50 metres, 50-70 metres and 70-100 metres. These categories will have to be constructed on plots admeasuring 2,000 square metres, 4,000 sq m, 6,000 sq m and 8,000 sq m, respectively and will require minimum access road width of 12 m, 15 m, 18 m and 24 m, respectively. 1. Thanks Ravi for posting this so quickly .... Please let us know your views on this project on pricing, Location (pros and cons) ... and also would like to know your recommendation on better properties in same area.... i.e. Karveroad, Kothrud, paud road etc I think there is big slum area near this site and hope Kumar Builders have all clearences of this land as areas near slums are under litigations.... Appreciate your advice and candid feedback.

  2. This will change the skyline of Pune if this comes true.
To counter small land that we got, lets go high, higher and highest.
Prices too are high, so wait for price alone to come down. Also, since it is completing in 3 years, make sure you try to visit the place only after 2.5 years. Let them build first.

  3. Please read this article in Business line newspaper.

Hiring in Pune down 5% in April

    Our Bureau

Pune, May 21 Hiring activity in Pune has dipped this April, and is down by 5 per cent in comparison to the status in March. The index moved to 571 from 604 in the comparable months, according to Naukri JobSpeak, the monthly job index released by Naukri.com,

While the drop in hiring was across prominent industrial sectors such as IT, ITeS and auto, the BPO and ITeS saw a drop of 22 per cent in hiring activity during April. Hiring in the IT segment remained at the March level, and that in the automobile industry moved down by just two per cent, according to the report.
    National level

On the national level, Naukri JobSpeak index at 677 indicates a 4.7 per cent drop against 711 in March. The first month of the new financial year witnessed continued downward trend, though, the fall in the index was not as sharp as in the previous month.

Of the top 13 cities, 11 cities recorded a fall in the hiring activity. Ahmedabad saw a steep fall by 11 per cent, while most other cities saw a drop of 5-6 per cent in hiring activity in April over the previous month. Hyderabad was the only city that saw hiring up 5 per cent in the period.

With this as backdrop of times that we are in, projects like one taken by Kumar builders is sure to disappoint the advocates of low cost housing.

  4. How is response to this project? Whether Rs.4500/- per sq. ft is rate for built up area or carpet area?
