Vascon bags Rs 200 crore HDIL contract

Vascon Engineers has bagged a Rs 200 crore contract from Housing Development and Infrastructure Ltd, to design and build two million sq ft of commercial space at Kurla in Mumbai.

Mr R. Vasudevan, Managing Director, Vascon, said the company would only deliver the shell – the masonry part of the building. All other work such interiors and fit-outs would be taken care of by HDIL. The total project is five million sq ft of which Vascon has been given the go ahead for the first phase, comprising two million sq ft.

The commercial complex would have three levels of basement parking and 11 floors above ground. The project is scheduled for completion in 18 months.

The highlights of the project would be the use of post-tensioning technique for concrete casting, which would reduce cost and increase speed of delivery, he said.

The technique, which uses steel stands, is employed in bridge construction. The shuttering process generally comes down from the average of 21 days to seven. The technology also facilitates construction of larger spans.

  1. HI Ravi, as far as I know you are based in Pune and how such news of getting someone contracts in Mumbai can help for the home buyers and audience of this blog? I think I didn't get the category of regular people this blog is targeted for? Or you are just happy posting something which few ineterested parties are happy to see under Pune Real Estate headline? I'm sorry but how can such news be posts? I don't mind if you moderate my commnet but even from NY, US I can see manythings what were intentionaly kept away from home buyer and whats going on there. If you really cared about home buyers then please stay away from such campaigns..otherwise people will simply desert and the only users will be builders themslves to see their lanches which hardly anyone is interested now-a-days

Here are few news which you can make post if you really cased abt home buyers.

Shobhana Subramanian: What're the builders so worried about?

Why property prices did not fall enough in 2008

I hope you will take a suggestion :)

    - 2nd, Do you know that Vascon is from Pune?
    - 3rd, Do you know that Vascon is coming out with IPO?
-4th, Do you know that Vascon's Willows a is popular upmarket project at Balewadi Pune?
    - 5ht, Have you ever realized that most of the property buyers in Pune don't know much about many builders?
    - 6ht, Do you know that the blog is a two way communication? Not only me, but you can contribute to it too, without being over critical about it!

    # Ref: "I don't mind if you moderate my comment....."
Are you posting comment for the first time?
Do you read comments posted on my blog?
    Most of them criticize me.
    Comment means criticism! Right?
Look at you, you become judgmental on one story but have you ever bothered to complement me at least once?

    # Ref: " If you really cared about home buyers then please stay away from such campaigns....."
Do you have any doubts? I am sure, you know well that i care about home buyers. Today, you found some interesting story which i missed or didn't post so you are excited and only your over enthusiasm made you write these words. Right? I realized this after reading your links!

    # Ref: " I hope you will take a suggestion :)
Thanks! You are not only suggesting, you are contributing to my blog. I really appreciate it. It shows your genuine intention to help the home buyers in Pune.
Actually, i missed your stories. Yes, you are right, these stories talk about important issues. Thanks for sharing them.

No. Now a days, you may have noticed, I avoid posting these type of stories which are based on "views". No, not because these stories criticize builders / Indian real estate. Only because, these stories are useful for those who like to post "comments", not for the actual property buyers.

So, instead of attracting comments by posting a story on "area of the property", i prefer to mention "carpet area" in my posts!

  3. "- 1st, Can't i make a mistake and post a wrong news?"

    Yes, YOU CAN!
    We all CAN!

"- 2nd, Do you know that Vascon is from Pune?"

Does not matter for property buyer.
If Vascon is from Pune, would they reduce the flat prices for Puneites?

    - 3rd, Do you know that Vascon is coming out with IPO?

    Don't care.

-4th, Do you know that Vascon's Willows a is popular upmarket project at Balewadi Pune?

    May be, so what?

    - 5ht, Have you ever realized that most of the property buyers in Pune don't know much about many builders?

They are not celebrities, rather mindless profit making bodies. Suckers may be the right word (although bit harsh)!!!

    - 6ht, Do you know that the blog is a two way communication? Not only me, but you can contribute to it too, without being over critical about it!

    Thanks for that.

  4. Anon # SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2009 11:11:00 AM,
I guess you answered all Ravi's questions - Thanks!

    Ravi,
Thanks for taking suggestion lightly and publishing my comment. I didn't really mean to criticize but again I believe you are still in denied mode and comfort zone because the all the users know that you have made posts of many Times group sponsored views-cum-articles as posts here. I'm surprised to hear from you that these are views not really meant anything to real buyer which have author profiles. I have been seeing many such stupid articles w/o mention of author details and his/her credibilities which are totally biased towards lobby and which always keep on saying "Now is best time to buy/invest", How home purchasing is the best karma in life one should execute w/o wasting time, blah, blah....

Also, I think many users are following diff blogs and and doing lot of research before becoming slave for next 15-20 yrs of bank and builders. it would be interesting to see the comments by people for such stupid views by sponsored supplements such Property times, Economics times etc . For sample - following slide is prepared w/o date and is been posted by ET as news everyday as if its new news -

    http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/quickiearticleshow/5179645.cms

Users know the quality of Times articles and their involvement in private treaties with lobby. these are no more news but they are exploiting the most sensitive medium they have and only time will teach lesson (like what happened in US for print media in Chicago and elsewhere) to these people.

    1) Please, keep in mind that I am not a critic or an activist to say whether this is a good or a bad time. I am real estate salesman. Means, i am one of those "stupid" people who keep on saying, "This is the best time!".

I blog to give useful information to buy the property. Not to discuss views and ideas. These articles write about "views" which are good for debating and discussing. Like what we are doing, now!
