Seasons Mall Walking:
Amit Gandhi of Gandhi Properties |
This Diwali, in pursuit of materialism, I took mall walking. I started with Seasons Mall at Magarpatta.
Looking at the stuff displayed in the shops - I kept on walking nearly empty & long passages. Whenever my carving level suddenly shot up - I went in the shop & touched the stuff. Sometimes, I took photos of the stuff I found irresistible.
At the end of the mall walk, I realized that my carving level for possessions, comfort & money has substantially increased. The shirts, shoes, watches, bags, laptops in the shops have assured me loads of happiness.
To celebrate my successful walk, I visited Starbucks. When I paid 195 rupees for hot Tall Cappuccino, I felt that I was at the right place.
Mall walking & Starbucks are going to put me on the right path. Spend more. Own more. Enjoy more. And most important - if you don't have enough money to do all this - borrow more.
If you follow this path, Ravi Karandeekar, you can become a better adviser. You can understand a first time home buyers' temptation to own a home - by borrowing huge home loan - which he will find difficult to repay. You will never tell anybody not to risk his life for some worthless property.
If you follow this path, Ravi Karandeekar, you can become a better blogger. You can understand a builder's business plans & marketing strategy. You will start believing that "greed is good". The end justifies the means. You can use bad or immoral methods as long as you accomplish something good by using them. Then, you will stop criticizing the builders. No builder will threaten to harm you. Who knows? Sachin, Manish & all would become your best friends!
Happy with the thought that this Diwali I have found the right path - I decided to enjoy my 195 rupees hot Tall Cappuccino.
"Starbucks, thanks for inspiring & nurturing my 'human' spirit," lifting my 195 rupees hot Tall Cappuccino, I said.
When I was about to take a sip, I realized that I should thank Satish Magar too! By developing Magarpatta he has changed the life of farmers & villagers. And by developing Seasons Mall, he is changing the life of educated salaried urban population.
OMG! Since I have taken this path - my heart is full of love! I have started admiring everything - including the builders!!
"Are you Ravi Karandeekar?," someone asked me.
"Yes! I am," getting up I said.
"I am Amit Gandhi. Gandhi Properties. I like your blog," he said.
"Builder! I though you are an IT Guy!!," I said.
"Yes. I don't look like a builder. I don't live like a builder. But I am proud of being a builder. I value my profession. I believe - I am in a noble business of providing housing. Fulfilling basic need of human beings. I respect the home buyers desires & try my best to fulfil them. I mostly sale ready to move in homes. Fully charged with positive energy," said Mr. Amit Gandhi.
"Ready to move in - is good. What is - charged with positive energy?," I asked.
"I am more than a builder. I am into spiritual healing. I am in art & spirituality. I believe in ethical business. Even as a builder - I believe and practice ethical business. If your mind is pure - you can do any business without indulging in corruption. To remove corruption - first - we have to purify our minds. You know? We all, including those corrupt bureaucrats, are born with pure minds," said Mr. Amit Gandhi.
"Yes. I completely agree with you. Mind matters. I was here for the same!," I said and took his photo.
"You are doing good. Keep it up!," said Mr. Amit and left.
I sat down and took a sip of my 195 rupees hot Tall Cappuccino. It was cold and tasteless. Amit Gandhi has spoiled it. Coffee, evening & everything.

- Very well put. Certainly, there is lot to do in life than take big loan and buy flat which is mostly worthless for the price builders/investors are demanding.
"Charged with positive energy."
- This is one thing which I also strongly agree even if it's said by a builder. I have seen luxury projects which feels lifeless as well as seen regular project which is full of good vibes and energy.
And Ravi, you should also thank Starbucks because they served you READY TO DRINK COFFEE. Had this been CREDAI-Coffee shop, you would have paid 195 bucks, got half cup coffee after 3 weeks and quality would have been poor than roadside tapri !!
I completely agree with you about CREDAI - Coffee, TheMonk!
