Flat sales go down, rentals up

The recession syndrome has gripped the sub registrar offices, which are barometers of the real estate industry.

In the last four months, sale deeds of flats have nose-dived by 6,164 while total registration has gone down by 15,424 in the city and Pimpri-Chinchwad area.

Interestingly, leave and licence agreements are on the rise as people prefer to take houses on rent instead of risking fresh loans.
