Visiting 'The Times Property Showcase 2012' at Le Meridien Hotel:
Information was not my motive behind visiting The Times Property Showcase 2012 at Le Meridien.
I was visiting property exhibition because:
1) For a few moments, I wanted to believe in every ward spoken by each & every real estate salesperson.
2) For a few moments, I wanted to believe that the construction quality would be as good as the glossy digital images displayed in the stall.
3) For a few moments, I wanted to believe that - after booking a flat - no property buyer will be ignored and harassed - but, will get the same treatment as he is getting in this property exhibition.
4) For a few moments, I wanted to believe that this property show is organized to fulfill my dream of a home and not to tempt me to risk my life & money to run a builder's business.
5) For a few moments, I wanted to forget the sufferings of Nalini & Swapnil at Sangria Towers Megapolis, Hinjewadi.
6) For a few moments, I wanted to forget the death of 13 month baby Sahil Wakade at Kalpataru Estate.
7) For a few moments, I wanted to forget the frustration of residents of Nagpal Group's Meadows Habitat.
8) For a few moments, I wanted to forget the unsatisfied residents of Blue Ridge Hinjewadi.
9) For a few moments, I wanted to forget the helplessness of PRA East Avenue at Wagholi.
And you know what?
Yes. For a few moments, I forgot the reality and enjoyed the fantasy.
As I do in every property exhibition.
What about you?
Why do you visit a property exhibition?

ReplyDeleteI love you, PuneRE. Keep it up.
Delete@PuneRE lagta hai aap school nahi gaye, Ravi ke blogs angrezi me hai agar aap padna chahe to.

ReplyDeleteRavi,
ReplyDeleteI was revisiting few of the blogs again including Kalpataru one..and now scared to death to book a flat...I have a block one in Skyi Songbirds....how do we trust these builders? how to ensure we are not being cheated?
You are honest. Your boss knows that. Still he pays you at the end of a month. Why?
DeleteI hope that like me, you (Mr. Ravi) enjoyed the fantasy for just "a moment" :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I go into exhibitions to really get some good quality, competitive prices and offers, but I couldn't find that ever in any of them. Thus I stayed away from Times property exhibition this time.
True. I agree with you, Sunny. Pune builders believe in 'collaboration & co-operation'.
DeleteBut, Pune property buyers love competition. Everyone is eager to book before the project is open for 'general public'. They look for pre-launch offer.
It is impossible to disagree with your perspective of the real estate in Pune, or any other tier I or II city in India. But I have a question - if 95% of the builders and schemes are over priced, poor quality and not living upto their own expectations and promises, what are prospective first time buyers like me supposed to do? By 'buyers like me' I mean people who break their bank accounts just to buy a house to live in, not as an investment.
ReplyDeleteIf you think there are honest builders who care about their customers, can you compile a list of such schemes/projects/companies and post them on your blog, so that we can give more preference to such builders?
Dear Anand, Pune real estate runs on your money. Since you are in the driving seat, you can turn it the way you want.
DeleteIf you realize this, you wont need a list of honest builders / projects.
It's like democracy. We don't need a good leader. We all need to become better citizens.
Sorry, I forgot to identify myself in my previous comment. This is Anand.
ReplyDeleteWhat exactly are you trying to capture in the photo with the caption: "www.mittalbrothers.com - The Times Property Showcase - 1st & 2nd December 2012" ;-)
ReplyDeleteNaughty boy.
DeleteI visit property expos for the following reason
ReplyDelete1) All which you mentioned
2) Free Ice cream and soft drinks
3) To get to know the latest meaning of the term "affordable housing"
4) To check out the latest trends in interior design . Believe me these expos are the best place to be if you are looking for some ideas.
Additionally, one more reason : i hope to run into you sometime so i could see what questions you ask the poor salesman
DeleteFree Ice Cream & Soft Drinks!
DeleteLooking forward to meet in the next property exhibition, GipsyKing!
