Shivane Kharadi - 100 feet wide - 23 kilometer long - 966 Crore Road - for whom?

Development for whom?

Mr. Kadam doesn't understand many things.

Shivane Kharadi road is one of them.

His Hotel Shivanand is in Shivane Village. Opposite Nanded Shivane Causeway. Exactly from where Shivane Kharadi road will begin.

Mr. Kadam knows for whom Nanded Shivane Causeway is. It's for the people living on the other side of the river - in Nanded and Dhayari on Sinhgad Road in Pune. From 6 am to 10 pm they use this causeway. And many stop at his hotel for a cup of tea.

But Mr. Kadam doesn't understand for whom this upcoming Shivane Kharadi road is! Why does Pune Municipal Corporation want someone to spend his own 966 croer rupees to make this 23 kilometer long and 100 feet wide road?

Mr. Kadam doesn't understand for whom Shivane Kharadi Road is - though from his Hotel Shivanand, Mr. Kadam can see "Asawari - 22 story building of 3 BHK Flats in Nanded City Pune" - standing tall on the other side of the causeway!

If you tell him that all this infrastructure development in Pune is for the people, Mr. Kadam asks - what people?

If the roads are for the people then why his son - who is driving PMPML buses for last 10 years on these roads - hasn't become "permanent"?

Why his land and his hotel will be taken away from him to construct the Shivane Kharadi Road? Development for whom? Asks Mr. Kadam.

Doesn't he sound foolish?

  1. This road will definately helpful for the most of the resident near by area. If you look the traffic on sinhgad road, it is really horrible.
Development on sinhgad road is truly a large compared to road infrastructure. Thus Shivane kharadiroad will help todivert some of the traffic. thus congestion on the singhad road.
I do appreciate if the PMC will look into it & alloctate the fund as earliest.

    Thanks
